SPS vs. LPS and softies

i wanted to transform my tank from a lps softies tank to a SPS tank...can they go together? if not why not? can softies live with SPS(with no LPS)? i would really like to get a good understanding about why this happens...oh yea it is 90 gall reef 3 years old with 250 and a 150 hqi bulbs???

The softies are the ones to think about when making a mixed reef. Some softies when stressed produce toxic chemicals that can harm other corals. The other things to think about are light, currant, space, and food needs all corals must be place in the part of the tank that the conditions are right.

most lps can be mixed with sps. the only softies i hv with my sps r toadstool and mushrooms. toadstool imo r not very bad when it comes to chemical warfare.

Zoos would be okay at the bottom of the tank i would think. Just to make sure they dont burn from the halides.
