Hey....i am trying to make a refugium out of two 10 gallons...i post the designe in another thread, but then heard i should talk to you...so i was hoping you could help me with this if you could please. I have a 75gallon...and one 10g...so i thought it would be good to just buy another 10 instead of a bigger tanks...cheaper. But anyways so the water would go through the overflow box, down to tank 1...then go through baffles...and then through the live sand rock,etc...then be syphoned to tank 2..the water will drop into the bucket catch(6) and fill up from there so the sand will not be thrown everywhere...then itll go through al that live sand, rock, etc again...then through baffles, and then pumped back up to the tank. What do you think squid, do i have a chance?? I just dont know what my dimensions inside those tanks should be(baffles, etc)..and i could have one tank on a stand or something as well.....

Rather than "split" the fuge between the two chambers, I'd run one 10 as the fuge and the other 10 as the skimmer chamber/return chamber/sump and then split the flow top the fuge and skimmer chamber...
The fuge could be then set up with adaquate lighting which wouldn't affect (grow nuicience alge) in the skimmer/return chambers...as well as allowing you to go larger in the usable volume of the fuge...
The tanks could be "stacked" for effecient use of cabinet space allowing a "tall" skimmer and larger fuge tank...
Kind of like this...But sized to fit your system...maybe even a 20 long for the fuge if you can fit it...

ok, so how is the water coming from the refugium to the sump...drilling a hole in the side?? And you use PVC pipes?

Set it on a piece of plywood and support legs undeneath, there'll be a good bit of weight in the fuge...
And you'll want to be able to get to the return pump occasionally for maintainence...so depending on the room and layout of your stand, it may not look(be set up) "exactly" as pictured...but it gives you the basic layout for flow...
