Stacking LR w/PVC

I have heard that you can use pvc to make like little shelves or something to stack you LR on, is this good? how do you do it? does anyone have any pics of theirs? is it hard to hide the pvc I dont really want pvc visible in my tank. the power heads will be enough.Is this so that you can get it closer the the light? or jsut fill in the aquarium better with less rock? Thanks for any info.

I am curious about this also. Please explain more/further.
I would like to re-arrange my tank. But I am confused about the PVC. What does the (round) PVC do? How would this help? I am trying to picture this, but it is not working.
