can one of those shoplights fire a good buble like they sell at a lfs for the aquarium

they will work but the shoplights are usually only up to 40 watts. you have to remember that when you get your bulbs. a 40 watt shoplight will only fire a 40 watt bulb, no more. i have 2 20 watters that i bought at home depot for $8 ea. on my 29 gal tank along with 2 75watt PC's.
