Stands and canopys

This is a thread to offer anyone interrested in a stand or canopy built to there specs. I can make them out of pine, oak or cedar. All my stands are 2 x 3 construction and r wraped in your choice of wood 4' stand can have either 1 or 2 access doors and 6' tanks have 4. All canopys r solid wood, again in your choice of wood. 4' canopys have 1 access panel and 6' canopys have 2. All harware is bright or dark brass. They can be stained and varnished to your color choice of color and finish or left unfinished to save u some money. All color choices will be that of the Minwax brand of stain colors. Or if u prefer they can just be clear coated. If u would like a price quote please leave a reply and include your tank length and width. Also these r 4 pick up only In McHenry Il. 60050. Have you ever worked with black acrylic ? My stand is old and I'm trying to get a canopy for it .

I dont think it would be imposable. I have built tanks out of acrylic with great success. what size would u need? The expense would be in the material a 48" x 48" is $107 plous ship and a 48" x 96" $194 + ship. let me know your thoughts.

Hey Glen, r u sure u want acrylic? I can make them out of clear pine and paint them with high gloss black for a lot less than acrylic. Either way I need to know the height u want the canopy. That would be a measurement from the bottom lip of the trim that goes around the top of the tank to the top of the lights. Also how much clearance do u want between the lights and the canopy. That will be your total height of the unit. just 4 refrence the acrylic will be about 4 times the amount of a wood 1.l et me know.

I really want it to match the stand , but I bought the tank and stand about 8 years ago . The stand is not solid wood you know that cheap stuff and its shinny black laminit . As for the height the PC is 5 1/2 above the tank . I would have to say 12" What do you think ?

Glen, I can do the 6' for $285 and the 3' for $200 or both for $450 Also that will be 11 1/2" tall. if that sounds resonable leave your email and I'll get back with u about excact dimentions and a deposit. Thanks Mike

beiging that u wany it so tall did u want doors in the front or would u still like hinged tops?
