Star Polyps

Hey, I took a frag from my boyfriend's tank of star polyps which were very big in his tank. Since I've put them in my tank in the morning when the lights first come on they start to come out and then about an hour later they go back in and don't come back out for the rest of the day. I was hoping they were just acclimating at first especially because he had halides and i have power compacts, but they seem to keep doing this and I'm curious if anyone has any ideas. I was thinking maybe my pH is too high, i haven't checked it and cannot right now cuz i'm in class. Would this make sense?
Let me know what you think.. Thanks.

It's been about a week maybe a week and a half...I'll test the water tomorrow, I think that doing it tonight it will be high considering it's the end of the day.

Try putting them at the top of your tank in high flow. Your new GSPs are probably acclimated to high light being that they came from a tank running MHs and you're using PCs. Mine love lotsa flow.

That's what I think too. I bought some GSP's from guy that's running PCs and I put it under my MH's, it's doing a lot better under mine then his. :happyfish

It must've been good luck to post here, cuz the day after i did so they opened up and are doing great! I did a water change and maybe that did the trick, but they're out in full force all day long and beautiful. Thanks for your suggestions!
:cheer:

well, since you asked...I'd love too. I've also included some more pictures I took recently. I got a group of 20 frags for christmas ( alittle early) from my boyfriend! :) The stars and zoos weren't part of that either, i just stole them from his tank. Everything is doing great. Enjoy!

Actually, I'm not exactly sure what it is. It was part of an LPS frag pack I got of about 20-25 different frags. I think it's a type of brain coral, maybe pineapple?? maybe someone else knows here.
