I have had a little colony of star polyps for about a month now and they closed after I added a few sps the other day. Nothing else in the tank is showing any signs of stress. I have checked all the parameters and they look as normal. Should I check anything out of the ordinary?
strange..ive never heard of sps affecting other corals! and if they did im sure your other corals would of reacted in the same way! maybe it was just coincidence?? maybe another fish or crab etc. disturbed it while you were'nt looking? thats all i can think of!
If the local currant has not changed then they should start to open today if not you need to do a complete test of water. I like star polyps because they respond like this and let you know something is up. Star polyps will normally bounce back once the prob is fixed.
