Star Snails

How many folks use these Star Snails? I've read that they are natural to rocks, versus Astrea snails, but I'm if they are truly reef safe.

i bought 10 one time just for my sister to look at. they all died with the exception of 2 within 3 weeks.
so not my favorite snail. as far as live rock. the two i have alternate between glass and rock pretty regularly i'd say couple days on each at a time. and i do not have any "reef" to comment if they are safe or not sorry.

Well I like that they have a trap door, which will protect them from hermits. This will force the hermits to pick a shell that is already available. I've read that they are completely reef safe, so I've picked up a couple, and I'll monitor them.
