Star Tronics UV sterilizer

A buddy of mine gave me a 25 watt star tronics uv sterilizer with a bad bulb. I am wondering if this is a good one and if it would be worth my money to purhase a new bulb for it? Also, my tank has only been running for a month, when would be the best time to add it to my system?

If you want to add one, Sure, get a bulb and stick it on the tank. I do not run one on my current tank but have on past tanks. I guess they did some good. Don't know for sure though. I guess they killed some parasites. Who knows for sure?
I would add it now if I were going to do it. For some reason when a tank is new it is a whole lot easier to add items.
