Starfish/coral help

Hello,
I recently purchased some frogspawn. 2 of the 3 heads/pieces i put in have completely disappeared leaving only the "skeleton" I was just looking at the one remaining and one of the little "hitchhiker" stars abut the size of a dime now, is dangerously close to it and getting closer. Could that be what is eating them or can it be something else? I need help! PS I am going to remove him and stick in the sump for now but there are thousands more so it may be inevitable...

Did it look like this then it is a Asterina star and mostly eats debris and algae. Mine are all brown I have a tank of Hammer heads they have never bothered them, but there are many species of Asterina some may cause problems. Have you checked your nitrates high levels causes problems with corals.
