starfish guts?

Hi,
I got a starfish from my LFS .. a red fromia starfish.
the day after I put in, its 'guts' are hanging out.
is it normal?

Same thing happen to mine. I thought something killed it. Do you have anything else in the tank that might harm him?

That doesn't sound good. They can extend their stomachs, but I wouldn't think they would keep it that way for any extended length of time (mine never has) and definitely wouldn't want it to leave parts of it on the rock! How long did you acclimate? It sounds like it is dying due to improper acclimation, but that is only a guess, Opiura (hope I spelled that right) would be the expert to ask! :yes:

1 hour? they need to be acclimated for 4-6 hours. thats probably what happened
Ive never heard of 4 to 6 hours of acclimation. Wow sounds like a long time.

You have to acclimate starfish very slowly with a large amount of water because for some reason, even a VERY slight salinity change can kill starfish.

Three clownfish? Are they all of the same species? Usually in groups of threes, same species or not, two will act aggressively towards the third, eventually killing him.
