Starfish Invasion!!!!!!!!!

i looked at my tank after the lights are off to see whats going on and this is what i saw.... an invasion...I counted over 30 plus
What type of starfish are they...good or bad???????

maybe brittle stars but they look like sand sifters either way they are harmless.

i never seen something like this in my tank. I count another 25 or more in the eelgrass the rock in the pic. I guess a sign of a good matured tank

When are you getting up to see this. I have looked shortly after lights out & see some stuff, but none of the weird stuff like here. Is this in the middle of the night?

nope this was 2 hours after lights are off. I tired getting close up but the pic gets really fuzzy since they are small.

those are a good thing they are mini brittle stars. great little detritivors, that multiply readily in our home aquariums.

i never seen over 50 of them in one spot before. I thought it was odd for alot of them in one spot at one time. I looked around the tank to see any more and there none to see but on that side of the tank. crazy

bump to show off how heathly my is tank is with the free clean up crew that came with the rock.

There are countless of them in my tank. If you look closely enough at your LR you should see the arms sticking out. I notice them most after I do a water change or recently after messing with the tank. They are literally everywhere in my tank but only if you know where to look for them. Definitely a good thing.

You prob have a bunch in the rock, and they were coming out during the darkness. I always see little light colored armed reaching out of the rock during feeding time. My LFS says they have tons of these in the bottome of their LR tank. Cool find!
