From what i have read about starfish, they do have eyes. They have a spot at the end of each arm the senses light but they cannot see images.

While we're on the topic of starfish, do you think it's normal for my new blue linkia to be spending so much time under/in a rock structure? I put him in the tank a couple of weeks ago and he spent the first few days roaming around, on the glass, etc. Then he found a spot under/in a cave and spends ALL his time there. I'm not sure if he's found good eating in there or if he's hiding from the light. NOt sure if this is a sign of displeasure with his environment or if they like to be cozy and hidden.
He's HUGE so it's hard for him to find places to hide so this cave must be the perfect solution for him. I can see his arm tips poking through some holes in the cave but for the most part he's out of view.

Unfortunatly i cannot answer this question as i have never owned a linkia starfish...However i can tell you that my brittle starfish spends 99% of his time under my rockwork...The only time he comes out is when i spot feed him...I have owned him over a year now...

Thanks - that's comforting, and it reminded me that I have a serpent in my other tank that I NEVER see, partially because he blends in so well with the rock and sand and partially because the only time I see indication that he's still alive is when I'm peeking in the tank at night with red flashlight and magnifying glass.
