Starfish

I have a 55 gal with 40lbs live rock and 40lbs live sand. The inhabitits are 1 chocolate starfish 1 general starfish and a small volitan lion. I want to buy some inverts from this website but cant find out if this tank set up will work. I want to add 1 knobby starfish 1 pincushion starfish 1 lettuce nudibranch and 1 coral banded shrimp will these all work. I know the lionfish will needs a bigger home eventually but he is still a baby and im going to trade him in when he gets older. i mainly want to know if starfish can live with each other and if the lion will pick on stuff that is to big to fit in his mouth. Im very new to inverts and appreciate all advice.

Your tank is not suitable for the knobby which needs a lot of LR to survive. The pincushion, IME, is pretty voracious (I saw one eating a long spine urchin once) and gets BIG. You have stars that are already a threat to each other. They are certainly a threat to the nudi, and the shrimp will be eaten by the lion.

In a word: NO
In two words: Absolutely not

They do nothing to solve the problem, and they certainly don't eat it. Not to mention you are putting an animal in that will slowly starve over time in most cases.
