starfish

I had a coral fall on my sand sifting star fish. His arm got cut off. will the part of the arm grow to be a new star fish and will the old one 'starfish" grow his arm back. thanks

probably not because sand shifting stars dont do well in tanks. they will quickly eat all the things in the sand bed and wont find anything to eat and gonna die. a starfish can just regenerate his arm if he is eating enough but w/ a sss thats not possible

yeah he might be lucky and the nub where it got cut off will heal but as for the comet(arm by itself) i dont think it will survive!
