Start of my 12G

Hello all,
I use to come to this site all the time years ago when I had my 55g Reef. Due to some vision issues and hubby worrying I might get stung by something.. ( I can't eat anyshell fish or even Tuna, very Bad reaction
) I sold the 55g set up and everything that went with it, from LS LR to lights and skimmers and everything else you can think of. My hubby got me an Eclipse 12g so I could at least keep my mated pair of clowns which I got from SWF...(alas my old female passed on Aug. 21 2008
), I also kept some LS and LR and water and a small clean up crew to set up the 12g. I have had it for about 4 1/2 years now and missed my reef so much that hubby is letting me turn it into a Nano...well, I should not say "letting me" I do what I want no matter what he says...LOL I'm older than him so I tell him "Respect ur Elders!!...LOL. I'ts all in good fun and after being with the man for 22 years he never says no to me anyway

I am upgrading everthing for the 12g, I just ordered a new light system...
and also just ordered a new filter and one of those Koralia Pump for a Nano. I also ordered a Current USA Lunar Light Nocturnal Simulator: : Nocturnal Blue .
I have OCD when it comes to water changes for my 55G as well as my little 12g so I have Never had any trouble with my water chemistry
. My LR and LS is over 10 years old, Kewl HUH!
I still have some vision in my right eye so I figure I could handle a small set up and at least be ablr to enjoy the hobby again for as much time as I might have with my vision.
So I just wanted to say Hey to all the Nano keepers out there and maybe get some pointers for my little 12g. For I know, small things can be even more beautiful than big ones! And any pointers anyone can pass down to a new Nano Keeper would be great. I told the hubby I would do my research and be careful for he is worried he might come home one time and find me floating with the fishes, sort of speak...

Here are a few pics of my 12g right now...I know, ugly PH but that will be fixed soon when all my new things come in.

Welcome back!
That rock looks great! IMO I'd lower the heater as close the bottom as you can to get it out of the way. I'm just a stickler for equipment showing thats all.
Great little tank! Can't wait to see some corals.

Thank you for the kind words. And yes, the heater is a sight as well as the PH, when everything I ordered today comes in I will be moving it down and putting in the new Koralia I got for a Nano, I was also thing of replacing the backround, what seems to look better blue or black? And any suggestions for corals I can keep with the new light? I do love my clown lost his mate last year, he now she is over 10 years old.

Its a preference thing with the background. I like black because it makes the colors stand out.
You can keep the easy corals like zoa's, mushrooms, and soft corals. How many watts is that light? You might be able to keep a frogspawn/hammer, bubble coral, or some LPS.
I gotta say though I'm not really a big coral guy, my best advice I can give is to do your own research. These forums are a good starting point, take what people say then google them.
