Hello there, I'm new to the hobby and have a few start up questions.
I have a 75 gallon pre-drilled tank.
1)how many gph should be pump be?
2) how much live rock do i need?
3) i live close to the beach so can i go get sand from the beach instead of buying live sand?
4) someone told me to get a wet-dry filter. how big should it be?
thanks
david

Since your tank is predrilled, you WILL need a sump...I would get at least one that is rated a 90 gallon tank,at least..It's allways better to oversize than to end up with equiptment that is too small...For the return pump you will need at least 750 gph..Live rock will depend on what you are planning on doing witth the tank.If it is to be a REEF,Then you will need 75-100lbs.If it's a fish only(FOWLR)then at least 50lbs would be fine....Beach sand is not reccomended to use.The beach is the oceans skimmer. All the pollution ends up in that sand...Store bought sand is collected miles and miles off shore.
