starting 38 gallon tank need advice. coolest looking fish help!!

I have live rock & sand in a new 38 gallon tank and a 60 gallon eheim filter on it.. i eventually want corals but the LFS is trying to ---- me on a light 24" $150.. is this legit? any way do I need an additional skimmer on the bank of the tank if i decide to go with corals? LFS said i probably would need to get it of course.. just live rock and fish they said I could maintain a cool tank with just the eheim. i change my h20 with LFS seawater! any advice would be appreciated! i'm going for the sicest 38 gallon tank in the histroy of this website!!! any suggestions on best fish combos? # of fish? the sicest salt water fish you have in your tank! post some ill pics pls!!!!!

Isn't your tank 36" and what type of light is the 24" light system? skimmers help but don't need one, you'll need to do 10% water changes every week to help get rid of the disolved stuff. you can't keep tangs in your 38 gallon, but there are plenty of fish, coral combos for your tank. biggest advice is look up stuff before you buy anything from you lfs, they want your money most of the time, your light is an example.

Definitely NO TANGS in a 38 gallon tank !! A pair of clownfish (of same species) will do well. Although the maximum amount of fish you can get away with is 4 fishes in that tank size.

I really suggest picking up this book. It gives a practical guideline and habits of a bunch of fish that would be good for your tank.
