starting a nano tank

hey everone just have a few quistions im thinking of setting up a 12 gallion nano tank . i curently have a 55 gallion reef tank and was woundering if i used lr ls and some of the water directly out of the 55 gal tank if i could limit the cycle time? or would there even be a cycle time. what would be the best fish to place in anano and what kind of clean up crew? stars?

there would be no cycle as long as everything came out of the big tank. as for fish your pretty limited. percs, gobies, blennys. 2 or 3 max.

For a clean up crew you might want to use cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp, some hermits, snails, and brittle star

well i have decided to get the 24g jbj nano cube, im going to buy new live sand and seed it with live rock from my 55 gal. do you guys think i should add some of my water from the 55 gal will this help?
