You could put in fake coral. Every coral out there needs lighting and water movement. If I was you I would ger 55 pounds of live rock stack it nicley and let some algea grow on it. Itd look really nice. You could get some neat looking fish in there too.

You do not really need coral to have a nice tank. Your live rock will grow all kinds of nice colors, such as purple, green, and red. In my opinion, this makes for a very nice tank as well.
Coral is really not that difficult if you have patience and are diligent with the upkeep of your aquarium. You just have to monitor water quality more often (with a few more test kits) and possibly increase water changes on the set-up. If you want to talk about proper/cheap lighitng set-ups, I can help you with that. Just email me: Ry84@MSN.com

I agree with lion. live rock looks really nice once it starts turning colors, and most soft corals are not hard. I didnt think i could do it, but 18 mo later my tank is so full, i have to start taking out extra growth. I just posted my 55 gal in the photo section. Good luck and Welcome.
