Hi everyone I'm very new to marine aquariums, and really excited about setting up my first reef tank! I would like to know when setting live rock in youre tank how do you get them to stay together firmly? I would also like to know youre opinions on what equipment I should use with a 125g like which lights and filter and skimmer and which pumps? Thankyou very much for any information you can share,as you can tell I need lots of help! Brand names and sizes would really help.

When putting your live rock in the tank, it is very important to place your base rock on the bottom glass and not on the substrate, because you will most likely have some critters that like to burrow into the sand and you don't want them to upset the whole pile. As far as the rest of the rock, I just placed mine on top of each other so that they would be as stable as possible. This usually takes some trial and error. also use your biggest rock towards the bottom. As far as equipment, my tank isn't near that big so I don't really know, except that I love my VHO'S Ice Cap all the way! Good luck and I would also recomend doing alot of reading before you start, it will save you money in the long run.

go to the library and READ,READ,READ... then jump up and down (haha) ..... just wondering on what you wanted to do with it????? all reef or fish or combo???? is your tank drilled for a sump ??? are you gonna use a sump??? depending on what type of plants, corals and such you plan on having ... a couple of VHO along with the atinic blue and the 10,000 k bulbs should be ok. wet/dry trickle system, skimmer, heaters(2-300watt) 4 powerheads (placed for optimum water flow) alot of common sence & patiance with a fair amount of $$$$$$$$$.
