starting new tank

Hey guys,
I am plannig on starting my first sw tank. I am thinking that i want to go with an aggresive setup in a 55 gal. Is this a wise choice for that size of tank? I am also wondering if i need rocks for this, only asking because from my research it seems that aggresive fish like to swim a lot. If i do not need rocks, what besides LS should i put in there? Also as a little side note for later down the line, what type of fish would you all recommend for the aggresive set up?
Thanks,
Sean:D

With an aggressive, you will have to consider the size of the fish and if they are compatible with eachother. Some swim more than others or some don't move much at all. We can't just say what fish you should have without knowing what you like first. What is one fish that you have seen, that you would like to have. There will be many answers as to whether or not that fish can live in your tank and with what else.
Its easier to start off from there.
Another thing to your question, rock is nice for the fish, some will say you don't need it, but most fish like the sercurity of it. Some fish need it to survive, so it just depends.

I was really hoping to start with a lion fish, but i think that might be a problem because most are venomous. If i am wrong please correct me. Big question with that is what kind of fish could i put with him.

Your going to be limited to what you can put in a 55 gallon. You could put a fu man chu or dwarf fuzzy lion in along with a snowflake eel. If you are going to do a 55 i highly suggest adding a snowflake eel. You will have to prepare properly to house one, but they are great creatures. A 55 is too small to house any triggers for an extended period of time so i wouldnt' bother with them unless you KNOW FOR SURE you are going to upgrade. Some of the small lionfish and pebble toothed eels as stated above would make a good combination for a 55.
