I am down to 3 fish & 2 corals 3 inverts, had a bad case of ick. ( was my fault) anyway I found out what I did wrong. With a very tight baseball schedule was in a rush so it was fill buckets make salt and pour. Now I was reading to mix every thing in advance, my questions are, 1 fill a trash can mix salt ok so far, does that water have to keep moving for that one day, 2nd can I add warm water just before I do the water change to match tank temp, 3 the only way I can fill trash can from basement is with some form of garden hose ( new one or one I have ) also what size hose tubing is needed to fill tank back up . Sorry I am not a very techicnal person when it comes to all this , Started as just a fish tank . Now I am learning as I go. please feel free to add any tips to help out.

Ok, yes when you premix water, it's good to drop a little powerhead or pump in to keep it moving. Also, a small heater is a good idea. You can get them fairly cheap at walmart (even if you have to buy two)
Next problem is (I'm assuming you don't have an RO/DI filter) You can buy NEW 5g gas tanks and go to publix or lfs or other places to fill purified water it's cheaper than buying it by the gallon. Also, some fish stores will sell premixed salt water and then you would just have to heat it.
Also, make sure ph and salinity match before doing change. If your water is right, it should'nt matter how fast you do the change.
