Starting tank

Hello i am starting a 55 gallon tank and i nned to know what i would need to do to get the water ready for fish thank you for helping

you need to scroll up and read all the helpful links for begginers above, then after lots of research and aquired knowledge from this site, you should pick up one of the many beginners books out there, thats the best and only advice i coudl give you or anyone else on here

I'll jump start the answer to your question, heres the basic list
You'll need a Tank

Substrate - Preferable is about a 2" LS bed
Couple of Powerheads, 2 or 3 900 or 1200 maxijets would be fine.
Good salt brand, IMO Tropic Marin PRO
RO water, not tap water to fill the tank with.
Might need a heater?
50-100lb of LR
Test Kits - API or LaMotte

agreed, although I feel Salifert tests are by the best.
