starting up my red sea max this weekend

i hope : )
ive had it for days then left for college so i never got a chance to fill it. Probably need to get a job now since this is going to be a money drainer on me. I deffinitly was way into all this like a year ago but i forgot some of the basics and its slowly all coming back. the tanks like 34 gallons i think i was wondering how much live rock i should get? I saw another person on here had like 45 pounds but i dont have like 300$ for that so i was thinking 30? would that be enough?

i would say yes and you dont have to add it all at once i add mine as i go considering i dont have the money either haha

yeah that would be enough you could also get some base rock and it will turn into live rock over time. and base rock is a lot less money. so that can add some more rock work for you.

well you can also make your own rock. many people on here make there own rock. and it becomes live within days. there are many types of lfs out there that can give you a great deal

well idk hows it done but its fun!!!!!!!!!!! lol you get to make your own rock the way you want it to! and yea sure easy

alright great, i totally forgot about the non live rock option. The nice thing is im setting it up and leaving it at my house while i go back to school so theres no rush in the tank cycling as long as its ready to go when i come home for thanksgiving and then random weekends after that and finally christmas break when i really get to put some nice work in on it.
thanks for the help guys : D
