Ok like I said I am very new at this and want to start it out right. I dont even know what a sump line is and do I have that installed in my aquarium or do I have to get an aquarium with that already done?? Is this necessary for just a reef tank? Thank you very much

Well sump lines are the tubes that go to and from the sump taking water out of the aquarium and then having a pump in the sump shoot the water back into the tank. Im not sure if you have to buy an aquarium with one in it or if you can get it installed. A sump is not nessesary but would do your tank greatly. Any more ?'s

What is in the sump? I know you can put skimmers in there, is that the only thing? It is a smaller tank that your show tank is siphoned into right, but how does that help?

It hides all the ugly equipment from your display tank and adds water volum to the whole system wich alows it to handle a higher bio load.....You can also add a refiguim to it if you like.

U say it hides all the ugly equipment from your display tank but from what u are all saying is u would have to have another tank? So you would need even more room for that? And how could you hide another tank? Thanks for the feedback keep it coming everyone

Also Ive heard not to put an aquarium in front of a window? Why is this I was wantinig to put my aquarium in my huge bay window. Is it just because of the sun heating up the water?

Not heating it up but causing bad algae to grow and take over your tank. My tank gets one little ray of sunlight from a nearby window and algae grows there so imagine the whole tank in front of a window.
