Steven Tyler quitting Aerosmtih?

Lead guitarist Joe Perry, and Tyler's daughter Liv have been spreading the word that Steven Tyler wants to leave Aerosmith and 'retire' due to the injuries he's had over the last year. Joe Perry wants to keep it going, and may resort to finding a new lead singer to continue the legacy. What do you think? Could Aerosmith survive, or even be Aerosmith without Steven Tyler?

Agreed, they haven't done anything relevant in a long time.

Not really a fan, but Steve Tyler IS Aerosmith. Not the same band if he's not in it.

I'm a huge Aerosmith fan and Steve Tyler is Aerosmith. It will never be anything without him if they try.

I saw these guys back in the late 80's, when they really had energy. I'm a fan, but agree that Steven Tyler is Aerosmith, just like Sting was The Police. But they are getting old and havn't had an energetic show in years.

I had front row seats for them and Ronnie James Dio back in 84 I think it was. Steven Tyler was a drugged out pig. He spit on a couple people in the front row. At one point he went on a tirade because people up front were just kind of sitting there. So he asked "why are you people up front just sitting here like this" and crosses his arms. A guy yells back "because you stink!!!"
So Tyler says "why don't you guys get out of the way and let the people who want to boogie come down front". I didn't even look. I jumped up and moved to the side. My cousin was with me and didn't move as fast. He got pasted against the stage. Most of what came down front was girls. I shouldn't have moved

On the plus side Dio was great. Aerosmith was OK when they played.

Aerosmith=has been. They have been for a while now. let's just remember the good ol days of Aerosmith past...

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry make Aerosmith , should they retire ?, yes ,only because of age /health issues, they are not and will never be has beens, their music is timeless classic rock , and they will go down in history with bands like The Doors

The Eagles and CCR at least thats my opinion
