Sticklebacks

I just wanted to see if anyone out there had raised or is raising male sticklebacks. Sticklebacks show their aggression though the red belly of any intruding male will act as a sign stimulus that releases aggression for these males, I thought it was quite interesting that even if you might have a red shirt on or hold something that is red which is visible to the stickleback, they will try and attack it (hitting the glass). The evolutionary ultimate cause for this action is due to a male fish (stickleback) decreasing the chance that eggs laid in his nesting territory will be fertilized by another male. If anyone has any information on this specific fish being raised, please post some comments. Wanted to get an idea of what it would be like to raise such an interesting fish.

Don't know where you can get one but i read about a study on them once. Males would attack red fishing bobbers but not realistic models without red bellies. Moral was fish base aggression on very specific things sometimes.

When i was younger we had a silver arrowanna and it would loose it when it saw red stuff . Believe me you dont want a fish that goes crazy when it sees a certin color . We never realized how much Red stuff passed by that tank on a daily bassis.
