Still have Diatoms?

Iv had my tank set up sence October, i use RO water and still have diatoms (brown algae on the sand)....
I dont know whats going on.
The good water out of the RO machines is in the Blue Tube right? Im not filling my tank with the waste water am i?

i had my tank size april and i have a little left. I have some pink algae on my sand now. I took forever for the diatom to go away

Give the tank some more time to mature. Time limits for cycling and maturation are a case by case basis since all systems are different. Perhaps you should test the water you use in the tank for silicates and phosphates before adding it to the tank (that is what diatoms need to grow) just to make sure the water is not contaminated. If it is not, add some astrea snails. They'll eat leftover diatoms from the cycle.
