What kind of a clean-up crew do you have.
This is a stab in the dark but I read it so I am just currious. If your alk is low by simply raising it you will make the conditions less favoriable for the alge.
Who knows? but it kinda sounds good.

not sure if my alk is low,i have not checked it,if it is low,how can i fix the problem, and where should it be at.
thanks

How long are you leaving your lights on during the day?? With hair algae still visible I would only leave on for about 6-7 hours. The green hair algae feeds off of both leftover food and the lights help it grow. Also, did you make sure when you cleaned off your rock that you got all visible green hair algae? Believe me, if you leave the littlest bit it will definately multiply. What kind of clean up crew do you have? If you dont have any I would suggest getting some snails, blue leg hermits, red leg hermits, and a few emerald crabs. If the hair is already extremely long then you might have a problem getting your clean up crew to touch it....which means you might have to take all your live rock out again and brush the algae off with a tooth brush. If you have any more questions just let me know! Also, here is my email address if you need help quickly. JMC904@cs.com
I hope this helps you out! Good luck and remember to be patient!! :)

Hey,
I would also get rid of the bio-balls. They are probably just cooking up more nitrates for the algae to thrive off of.
Just a thought.

try a lawnmover blenny. a local pet store has a 300 gallon tank which at one time was almost covered in green hair alage (most of there LR, I mean) within the next week they had added 3-4 Lawnmover's, the week after, it looked like ALOT of the alage was gone. I seems like that worked for them. Later

You should be checking you alk levels anyways if you are keeping corals. It should be at 7-10 dhk.
