No one wants to get taken for a ride on costs and I realize in most cases you get what you pay for. I'm willing to spend the extra coin to get decent equipment but i'm not sure how much certain things are supposed to cost.
What i want is a 75 gallon reef tank. Live rock and live sand, a few fish and I know lighting will be an issue for a later date.
Anyone have an idea how much a 75 gallon Reef ready tank should cost?
figure 48 x 18 x 20 glass tank, obviously drilled with fittings.
I've also seen a difference of up to $500 for the same tank in acrylic. Is it really worth $500 more for acrylic??
an appropriate sump for that tank? my LFT said almost $300 US for the sump. Sounded a bit much. I saw a berlin sump BS-1 for $135 at the depot with tubing and sock. Is that going to be good for my tank?
I've already got my eye on a coralife protien skimmer and 2 power heads.
Also i'm not sure about the pump yet. I know i want to turn over the water appx 10+ times and hour at least right?
I plan on buying my liverock and sand from swf as soon as i get the rest of my equipment sorted out.
Thanks everyone for your help and feedback.
I'm startin to get pretty excited about getting this tank going as it will be my first marine tank.
