I just came home with what I believe to be a cali ray. The guy at the new (just opened today) lfs in town said he was an "atlantic" but I've never heard of it. I have done a bit of research and seen quite a few pics and decided on the cali so I'm pretty sure that what I got...but pics would help me feel more confident. How and what do you feed the cali? Any good info sources you know of... Thanks

actually I live out by Joliet/Plainfield so I typically hit Petfun in Naperville Rt59, King Neptunes joliet, but know this new place opened today in plainfield called Upscale aquatics. Looks like it has potential to be awesome. Big tanks with sharks etc with feedings on the weekends at noon. Another good one is Scotts petshop, its in Westchester, lots of good stuff and very knowledgable.

hey walleye, one more question, what temp do you run your tank. I have a few other little fish and a live rock pile but typically keep it right at about 80. I've read a couple places that say you should drop to 54 -72 degrees with the cali's...any truth

So is that low of a temp going to bother my other fish and anemone? Also where and what kind of scallops do you use, how do you feed them
Thanks
Also what kind of sand do you use. Mine is "live carribean reef snad but looks just a little finer than playsand. I was thinking of removing a little and adding that real fine white carribean sand what do you think?

i feed them sea scallops. i use a feeder stick or feed them by hand. i have real small gravel in mine. if you put new sand in there you will have to take your fish out of the tank because of the dust in there. i have a yellow tang and a clown in with them and everyone is fine
