stinging corals

if soft corals from seperate colonies touch one another will they sting eachother? if so, would it cause them to die?

Theyd sting each other, but i dont think any soft coral stings are strong enough to kill

would it be bad for them to come in contact with one another? some of the reef tanks seem to have corals on top of one another
