Stingray and shark egg

I was wondering if I put a shark egg in the tank with my blue spot ray, will it become dinner? The tank is a 300g. I was thinking of putting the egg in some kind of safe place like one of those containers they keep eels in in LFS.

The egg wont get eaten. It should be safe as long as there's nothing that will pick at or bother the egg.
