Hi Chaps
I'm still very very newbie to marine fish...So please bare with me!
I have just acquired a 180 g set up with 30 g sump, skimmer, Fluval canister filter...
I've not set it up yet, but I'm hoping to go with 300lbs of sand and 300lbs of LR.
Stock:
2 Volitan Lions,
1 Clown Triggerfish
2 Eels (Snowflake and a Zebra or Golden)
1 Emperor Angelfish
Can anyone out there advise me on my stocklist? Is this too much for a 180? and will they kill each other?
I'm starting out from nothing, so any ideas / advice on the proposed set up and inhabitants would be gratefully received.
I'm thinking the Trigger my be a problem, am I right??
Thanks in advance....

Oh.....and another thing I forgot to mention...
I've looked at various web articles on the internet for background on husbandry for the specimens on my wishlist stock listed in my question above, but I've not found any mention of probable lifespan, can anyone tell me about growth rate and lifespan of these fish??
Thanks again...

Triggers and lions are not a good mix. Some pull it off with the less agressive triggers, but it is a gamble. The Emperor will be fine, but I think in the long run will out grow the tank. First I would decide what you want more, The lions, or trigger. The clown trigger in the long run will need a larger tank in the future as well. Lions do have a tendency to grow quickly depending on feeding. Decide what you want most, then we can help better from there.

a lot of those fish you listed are more open water fish then rock fish. I would get less rock and allow more room to swim with the lions if you want two. Id drop about 100 pounds of the live rock. 180- 200 is plenty is you have a skimmer sump set up.
The clown will one day wake up and snap from what I have heard and kill everything. They gte huge 16+ plus inches. I have even seen one 19. Thats a big fish with the heart of a great white shark.
Id go with Two Lions if you want them. They seem to be on the top.
Smaller Angel.
Eels.
Maybe a larger wrasse

Thanks for the input....
Looks like the trigger will have to go as my must haves are the Lions...Is there any such thing as a compatibility list for help in building a stock list? Something that would give you some basic rules of thumb about behavior and what would be safe housed together....Anyone got any ideas on what would go well with my Lions and Eels?
Is there any algy eaters that would be OK in this environment? Or would that be too much to ask...?
