Anybody have any decent stock suggestions? Usually I have a few picked out that I'm into, but these last few weeks I just haven't been able to pick a winner. Last decent move I picked up on was MGM and SIRI.
Decided to get into INTC cause I am really flustered on where to put my $$. Any suggestions?

After this run up I don't know that I wouldn't just look at a 6 month CD or something. If you're long term look at some kind of mutual fund.

I like buying/selling.. in and out.. sometimes I fall in love and get hurt..
That's why Im really confused on what to buy.. all the stocks that I usually have an eye on are at a weird price right now... I personally don't believe they can go higher and there should be some correction.. but who knows...hmm.. maybe I should get into a good dividend stock and just sit on it for a while (boring).

MO has a nice dividend and pretty stable price. I swing trade and did better than 50% last year but for about the last 3 months I can't make heads or tails of the charts and have my trading cash parked. Hope you got into Intel before the earnings report.

Are you speculating or are you looking for a good investment?
For an investment, HBC is currently undervalued IMO.
If you are speculating then CREE has the potential to take off (again).

I can't make myself stay in long term for any sort of investment. It's almost like this weird high I get from buying/selling :p I want to make a >many< quick (nice) profit(s) and get out.
I'll look into CREE. Thanks.

If you like turning and burning you might look at the penny stocks.
I do better at picking good investments but the active trading method works well too.

Madoff here ...prison #284758 ... just send me your money and I will guarantee a certain return.

I actually did well with the stocks I bought last year that crumbled for no reason including my own company stock. My 401k took a beating but it is back and better than ever now. I used to day trade but I got hurt really good back during the internet bubble burst. I've been debating wheter or not to jump back in. Right now I am still concerened about a 2nd housing market fallout. But I am a big worrier!

I made a good deal on siri when it was at 11 cents. I wish I had got in at 5 cents! For a solid 8 months if your company didn't go bankrupt then whatever stock you were involved in was straight money...
I think I need to just start shorting.

So you're actually more of a gambler than an investor.
In the heyday of the day trading when the stock market was moving up 20% a year -- something like 88% of the day traders still lost money.
I invest long term in good growth mutual funds -- call me boring but through the ups and do I just keep on keeping on as I know the history of mutual funds and know over time they perform. IMO there is no short term investing -- only gambling which is where you get your "high" from.

Apple.
Apple apple.
Apple apple apple.
Get apple.
Over the past month, they have gone up from ~180 (early march), now at ~266.
We have had apple. Have always had it. It's a good stock to "stock up" on. We will buy it when it's really low, just a few at a time, and then we will sell it when it's at a high price again. Usually we will always have around 30-50 shares at a time.
A good tip with them is that their stock goes up like CRAZY amounts right before and just after they come out with a new product. Now it's so high because of the Ipad. It will drop a little in value, but sit on it, and it will FOR SURE come back up.
JM2C. I am 21, my bf is 24 and WE OWN our home JUST from trading stocks over the years and rolling things over.

So you're saying buy apple high?
Congrats btw -- you guys are a rare breed owning a home especially at that age.

haha no no. I would not buy now. My thoughts are that you should buy it in about a month and start buying as much as you can afford right when you start to hear the whispers of stuff like "apple is launching a new this..." or "The new Ipod nano is coming out"... yada yada.
Their stock seems to do VERY well right around xmas. Seems to me that their earning are ridiculous though out the holidays, due to teens and tweens wanting ipods, iphones and what not. Around thanksgiving, we always try to pick up a couple more shares.... That way by xmas we can turn a handsome profit.
Jackri- thanks. We try. How ya been? I haven't seen much of you here lately. I see that the kiddo turned into a turtle. I didn't see that one coming haha :)

Been SUPER busy at home -- put our house up for sale and moving a whole 1/2 mile away to a nice big 2 story and huge yard so... it's panic and clean and box crap up and worry what the *#$#)*$# to do about the tank during the move even though it's only a 1/2 mile.
Oh.. and my wife has lost her ever loving mind at times lol

I can understand. I feel for her. My boyfriend is absolutely NO help at moving time. It's nice that we haven't rented for the past 2 years. I hated moving... I felt like it was nonstop madness. I can only image how it must be having kids. We just had a dog at the time. lol
As long as you're online Jackri... Know anything about carpet surfing fish?? I found one about an hour. She is still alive.... Check out my thread titles "omg fish on the floor." I could use some moral support :(
