I have a 72g bow. I want a Lion. My wife wants a puffer and a angler (we seen one called a black wort something (cant remember his full name)). Would these work together. I would love a eel but will pass if I would not be able to get the above fish. What would you suggest. Also how much substarate and live rock should I get. I already have a 100g reef setup but aggressive is all new to me..

I wouldn't put an angler with a puffer, most anglers are better off in a tank by themselves. How about a lion, puffer, and a Snow Flake Eel, those three would work out nicely.

I agree, you should choose between the puffer and the angler. The puffer will probably harass the angler and the angler will eat any fish twice it's size. Even lions and eels. I have a blackspotted puffer that has tons of personality and does fine with my volitans lion. They even share food without any fighting. One thing to keep in mind though is puffers are known to nip lions fins but mine never has. Sometimes all the advice in the world goes out the window when talking about stocking and compatabilty. Nature is chaotic.

I have a dogface and a pork puffer with a lion for over a year, no problems.
Why wouldn't you keep a puffer with an angler? The probability the puffer would be aggressive to the angler is the same as if the puffer was with a lionfish.

You have a good point but the key word is probability. Anything can happen. I recentley tried a porc puffer in my tank after reading alot about them. Most people will tell you they are fine with arothron species like the blackspotted that I have. As soon as the porc hit the water he attacked my dogface and did not relent until I removed him. I was pretty suprised. He was super aggressive. My dogface likes to bite the legs off of serpent stars as well. Something I've read they don't normally do. I just imagine the frogfish's angler attracting the attention of the puffer who are very curious by nature. Not saying it wouldn't work just that it might not.
