I would put a pair of clowns, or a six-line and some other small fish however a scooter blenny will starve in a 20.
In my 20 I have only two fish . . . I used to have three however it was too much for the bio-load IMO along with all the corals/inverts.

I've got a pair of false perc's and a yellow clown goby. So far so good, we'll see as the tank ages I guess....

i'd say go for a pair of percs, a sixline, and maybe a neon goby. Dont over load youfr tank. Stick to about 4 small fish. If you over load, lots of problems will occur, waste excretion will be high with lots of fish, and will have a problem establishing new territory , but cannot happen with an over load of fish, especially the clowns who are territorial fish.:happyfish

You might as well just throw your money down the toilet and save yourself some trouble . . .

you would need a full fledged sump with that many fish in there . . . pretty much, the MAXIMUM amount of fish that a 20 gallon can adequately support without any additional filtration, using only LR and LS is 3 small fish. IMO even three is too many, two is the most that I would put into a 20 gallon tank. I tried three and I had an algae outbreak. After removal of the third fish, it went away.
You can see my set up in a thread about my tank a page or so back.
If you MUST have more than two fish, then get a bigger tank.

What kind of filtration?? If you are planning a tank with just LR and LS you are still pushing it for those four fish in my opinion.
I am thinking of haivng a pair of percs, a green clown goby and a shrimp goby/pistol shrimp combo in my 29 and thinking that will be pretty full .....

I am thinking that perhaps you need to get a good book and start there.
What does "standard filtration" mean to you? Chemical? Mechanical? Biological?

I'd second a good book - like Consceintious marine aquarist ....
also - adding more filtration is not a 1 to 1 coralation for adding more fish ....
