i will be getting a 29 gallon shortly and need some help on deciding what to put in it tho. this will be my first personal saltwater aquarium but i have been doing saltwater at ***** for about 6 months now. im looking at doing a fish only single fish only tank or a small reef tank. but i would just like to know what some suggestions for a single fish only tank would be? right now im looking at getting a fuzzy dwarf lion fish for it. but would like option on what else would be possible in there instead just to keep my options open.

Hi! It would be a little small, but if it was the only fish, with lots of rockwork you could do a smaller eel, like the snowflake. A dwarf angel would also make a pretty centerpiece. Personally I think smaller saltwater tanks can get boring unless you do a reef. A reef is almost limitless in diversity of species you can contain in that size tank, especially if you fill it with smaller frags, only your wallet would limit the possibilities. My first reef tank was a 29 gal and I had tons of corals, a pair of clowns, a sixline wrass, and a pygmy angel. It was lots of fun. Good luck! I'm sure you'll be pleased with whatever you decide to stock it with.

I don't think that a dwarf lion would be the best fit.
Why not do a small reef with a few small reef fish? There are many people on this site that have 29G nano reefs with fish in them.
