Stocking my sump/fuge with pods.

Hi Everyone!
I wish to stock my sump/fuge with pods for my scooter. I was wondering if there is a way to keep them from getting skimmed and sucked up into my return?
I've already found a few larger pods inside my skimmer. Does this matter? I plan to buy a reef pod pack to get things started and was wondering if I need to do anything to maintain a healthy population In there?
I only have LR, LS and chaeto in the sump at the moment.
thank you.

You can take some rubble and beat the snot out of it to get a bunch of smaller size rock. Then stack this smaller rock all together in one place. They will kind of congregate there and do their nasty little pod breeding dance. They will feed off of the detritus and other things in the fuge.

LOL....No, No, No......I agree with Henry

These pods will get everywhere and anywhere....the fact that you are seeing them that much should tell you that you have a good population already......when I look in my refugium, it looks like another planet...also the overflow....I hate cleaning the sponges...I always end up killing a bunch (I pick off what I can)

Well dang.
Ok so on a side note.... Do Amphipods molt? I found what looks like an albino Amphi skin....

From what I understand yep.
They are Crustaceans and probably molt just like shrimp and crabs.
If the albino skin was empty it probably is a molt

Thanks Beasle, My theory is that if they are molting they must be doing ok. I hope anyway.
I'm going to get some more Macro algae tomorrow. Is there any Reccomendations anyone could give me?
I want to avoid the stuff that looks like grapes.
