Stocking new tank

I've fallen in love with some aggressive fish and I wanted to start a new tank just for them.
So far I would like:
1 Snowflake Eel
1 Marine Betta
Any suggestions?
Currently the tank I plan to use is a 55g (it's a FW tank atm, selling my fish, when they're all gone I planned on starting an aggressive tank), would this tank be good, or should I make myself a bigger one?

I'm afraid a 55gal wouldn't be big enough for a fully grown Snowflake. I would go bigger if you intend to keep the eel long term.

A 55 is really considered small for a SW tank. If you get a Marine Betta, you probably couldn't keep more than one more fish with long term success. I'd start thinking about small fish or you'll be limited in numbers and types you can keep. Fish get more aggressive when cramped. There are plenty of small fish that are very aggressive for their size. And, don't be fooled by all the small triggers, groupers, etc. at the lfs, think in terms of grown size. BTW, a dwarf lion makes a great centerpiece fish for a 55.(IMO)

A lot of people think of the Marine Betta as being aggressive because it is a grouper, but that is not the case. Like stated above, they only get to be around 6 inches in captivity. These fish are also stressed easily with aggressive tankmates, and they have to have plenty of places to hide. These fish are one of my favorite, and I believe it would do good with a SFE. Just remember though, if you start getting into things such as puffers and triggers, you might want to consider giving the Marine Betta up. The cool thing about them is that they will go into a hole head first, then sway their tail back and forth to resemble the head of an eel, hence the big spot on its back that resembles an eye.
