oh... and MINE TOO... MINE DOES TOO... it's like 16 inches long, I SWEAR GUYS! what? don't look at me than way... C'mon, I SWEAR IT"S TRUE! ALright, it was only a blue damsel, but i swear it was TEN FEET LONG... fine, it wasn't even a damsel but a small blue leg... but the biggest small blue leg i've ever seen! OK! I DO"NT HAVE A REGULAR LFS!
One of the lesser reputable LFS's around here (fish always seem sick, etc- but good dry goods prices) had a blue ring octopus AND a stonefish for sale. Then one day, the blue ring had "sold to bob". I hope "bob" knows what he's doing....
:happyfish Hey badkkarma- My local lfs had blue ring octos too!:scared: I don't even know if they have anti venome for blue rings. Isn't that the most poisonous creature in the world? This was a few years ago, and they went out of buisness thank god! They got ANYTHING you wanted there. They knew what they were selling too! They were only like $20 too! They had blue rings on them and everything. I think lions and eels should be the only things relatively venomous that they sell. Any more than that and it's asking for trouble.
Yes, the blue ring is one of the most venomous creatures on earth. It's venom will kill you in less than 10 minutes, and the worst part is, there is not really any anticdote/cure and you won't feel it bite you. If there is anything good about it, it's REALLY pretty and not that aggressive so you have to be pretty dumb to get bit by it. But apparently there are at least 10 deaths across the US every year by blue rings. Even though it's not that aggressive, I still have no desire to keep anything that can kill me in 10 minutes with one small bite that I can't even feel.
:happyfish ^ It might be that not all the 10 people that died by the blue rings owned them. They may have swam with them or whatever when diving . I think it's illegal to sell them, but they ARE sold surprisingly. _ali
Sweet pic. Conogre has a stonefish, and my friend went scubadiving in japan, was like laying on the bottom, and a stonefish swam out from under his chest. Pretty scary., Those are some nasty fish, huge mouths and very camo.

They are not illegal to sell. The deaths are by owners - it was stated in one of the recent fish magazines I get - I forget which one; I'll have to check and see when I get home. There are an additional few deaths by divers that were bitten, mainly in Australia.
