storing ro water

What's the best way to store your ro water. I've been using 2 5 gallon plastic jugs. Today I went to do a water change, and there is a slight smell when I opened my jug. It's only been sitting for 4-5 days, and it's been shut. The air that was in there went stale? How do you store your water?:notsure:

I use a 44g Brute rubbermaid with a small 300gph Powerhead to keep things flowing. I also store RO water in all my empty Saltmix containers.. each 1gal ... I have about 20 or so of those i keep..

5 gal paint buckets w/ water tight lids (you know those white ones you get at Home Depot). Has worked well for me.

I mix my salt in the "homer" buckets, but I store my water in the jugs. I don't think the quality of the water has been compromised, it tasted a little off, but water that sits for a couple days is always off a little, no?

I have a 32 gallon trash can, never know when you need a big water change.

32 gallons of Pre-mixed 1.025
32 gallons of RO water.
Rubbermaid trash cans.

I just buy the 1 g jugs and fill them with the water and then I just leavee them in my closer!:happy:
