Storing Saltwater What's Your Opinion

I just bought some Catalina Saltwater for water changes, how long can you store it for and were should you store it. They told me to keep it in the dark to prevent algae from growing. Should I let it air out. Whats everyones opinion on this?

YOU SHOULD STORE IT IN THE DARK AND ADD A POWER HEAD TO THE WATER. MAKE SURE THE WATER IS THE SAME TEMP WHEN ADDING TO THE DISPLAY TANK.

I agree. maybe also a heater so it is the same temp as the main tank.

Why a power head this stuff comes pre mixed.

Helps keep the water oxygenated and keeps it from becoming stale. Keeping the water flowing is the key, if the water does not spell clean like the ocean, I would not use it. It also helps keep slime, grease or anything else from settling on the top.
