Straight Up with the Canopy

Let me get this staight if you want to buy a retrofit lighting system
such as the ice cap 430 ballast and Vho combo that I'm looking for
You have to buy or build a canopy I'm guessing some of them you place fans into and they connect to the ballast
Doors have hinges on them to open to feed etc.
Theres no nothing hood or anything covering the tank except the new canopy
It looks like the cheapest way is to build one yourself
Everyone give me your opinion and also answer if I do change to a reef do I have change the Crush coral in my two eheims 2217 to somehthing else or can I leave it in there?

DIY canopy is the cheapest and most rewarding, If doing a reef I would ditch the eheims and get a refugium, and sump. I don't run a fan on my 29g, but I keep my house pretty cool, and the back of my canopy is basicaly open. Hope that helps.
