Strainer on powerhead?

I have 2 MJ 1200s in my tank.
Should I use the plastic strainers on the intakes? Mine keep getting filled up with the HA in my tank. Would HA going through the impellor hurt it?

I have 2 aqua clear 4000 and i have filter attachments connected to them. it keeps fish from being sucked up in iy.

keep the strainers or you will lose livestock. i would suggest beefing up ur cleaners to get the hair under control. another cool solution is a LMB. GREAT fish with LOTS of personality!

Heck yes use them, clean them off regularly.

Had one, he wouldn't touch the stuff. I ended up losing him and I think it was from starvation. He was pretty thin when I flushed him....

I really liked him to.....
