Strange baby star on coral

DON"T SHOOT ME for no photo but basically destroyed this thing pulling it out and just some goo left... but I saw a little star fishing looking thing on my Butternut coral (sps).
Didn't see any damage, except maybe EXACTLY where it was but it was the size of a
icon and not like the typical little partial stars I've seen before (have a few of those living in my sump). This one had pronounced white dots and small and very fragile unlike stars you would think are a bit more sturdy.
Anyone have any ideas? Dunno if it was "reef safe" or not and haven't spotted any others but pulled him out to take a pic and inspect him and ended up killing it.
Any ideas or names I could possibly google would be great... hopefully no coral eating star infestion going on

Again sorry no pic -- I was going to try!

if it was one of the mini astrea stars (idk if i spelled that right) get those out of your tank. once they start getting red or brown i think that means they are turning coral hungry

Ok this is about the closest thing I've found for pictures as to what I saw on my sps -- and this was sps polyp eating star... no "official" name.
I do have asterina starfish in my sump and this definately wasn't one.
The only thing different than in the pic was the one I pulled was a bit lighter... but I squished it pulling it out and didn't get a REALLY good look at it.
