Strange Behavior From My Clarki

So Lately my clarki has been hosting my brain only at night like its his bed, but during the day he gets down next to the brain and shake like mad to clear the sand away from him, what is the reason for this?

he is making it his home.
he likes his home to be clean

my Clarki does the same thing all over the tank and stirs the sand up, even though she has a mate and a BTA to host!!
