Strange bristle star behavior

Two days ago, my reclusive bristle star just came out of it's usual hiding place during daylight hours and was just cruising the tank from one side to the other. It was even climbing the glass on both sides of the tank. I have had it for about 2 months and it never comes completely out from under the rocks, even to feed.
All my water parameters are in check, I have a ground probe, it was fed just 4 days before. I have placed some new zoas in the tank 2 days prior, but there is no visible die off ( incase someone brings up toxins).
Any idea why it was so active?

When I see mine in the daytime it means it's hungry, I feed it a small chunk of raw shrimp. I watch to see where his hiding place is and put the chunk of shrimp near his rock (AT NIGHT) it will reach right out and take it. Then I won't see it for another month.
Are you sure it was fed 4 days ago, because sometimes if you don't see it grab the food...other CUC critters get the food instead. If you fed it in the daytime then the fish eat it.

I always feed it directly with my tongs. It's arms stick out of the rocks but it keeps it's body hidden.
It just seemed like it was on a mission that day.

Maybe something spooked it from it's hiding place. It's always a treat when we see the star out, everyone in the house comse running to the tank to watch it for the brief moment before it returns to the rocks.
