I spoke w/ a friend yesterday that lost a number of angels in his 125 tank, when a storm ripped through his neighborhood and left him w/o power for several hours, and this got me to thinking...
I have a huge 60g 220v air compressor in my garage, that happens to be located directly under my reef tank. I could easily plumb an airline up through the walls, to directly behind my tank, where I could then hook up a quick connect to drive limewood airstones in the tank, sump & fuge, in the event of a power outage. It would just be a simple matter of maintaining a very low output via a ball valve, as well as always keeping a good pressure level in the air tank.
The big question is, would this air be considered safe or toxic..?
